Hey everyone! I did a review on the latest Haven XL model I just received. Looks like they have done some updating/upgrading. Come over and check out the review!

Yeah. Buy the pump.

Ran across this account of circumnavigation of Lake Superior by two gals in Seakayaks, they left May 25th in 2019 and documented the trip briefly in Small Boats Monthly.
My be worth a look at.

They actually published a book, essentially their diary, called “Ladies of the Lake” immediately after their trip. It was the first account that I read (they actually did their trip in 2016), but this more recent article might have some other interesting details, certainly looks like some useful photos. Thanks! I’m set to leave mid-May, just a few weeks from now. While it will still be cold, Superior had very little ice this year.
Back to the original thread….I decided against buying a Haven and went with a Tensa Trekking Treez instead. There were just enough comments about problems with the Haven pad to make me nervous. It seems the problems with leakage might be related to having to really push hard to get the valve to close properly, but a leaky pad is not something I would relish when I’m days or weeks away from civilization. To be fair to Haven, they have been very responsive to my questions and if I had time for a few shakedown trips, I might have gone that route.
So it’s a Treez and my trusty WBBB, Yeti underquilt and topquilt for the trip!
Thanks again, always get good tips from y’all!

I’m at the first Euro Hang Con in Denmark. Lots of Havens. I met Derek the designer. He has a brand new pad that does not fold and is much improved. It is an easy rig to go to ground in if needed.
