    ..If thats a decided location??

Vault toilets, pump water, lots of trees, thousands of acres...and parking.
    Gargoyle,

You laugh dude, the fall of 1969, after being tear gassed by the Washington D.C. police during the moratorium demonstration against the war in Vietnam, I along with a number of other folks swam naked in the fountain in front of the Federal Reserve building to wash the tear gas off. Ahhhh, those were the days.

I like this idea ... as long as there is space and trees to hang in a wilderness setting.... I'm up for it .. and it's only 2.5 hours from home, can;t beat that! What do you others think of this? Plus the others mentioned earlier ???

I have camped there, I think it would be great. Close for everyone. I vote affirmatively with the thought of a Manistee trip later in the year.

I've been watching this thread and if the dates work out I would be interested. How's the hiking? I didn't see a distance marker on the map.

    As promised... pictures.
Took a few shots of some of the campsites, hung my hammock, ate some alchy stove oatmeal, tried to take a nap, but it was tree trimming/spring clean up day at the park.

Of course, I had to listen.
The chainsaw crew took a break and I listened to the swans and geese on the lake. Quite nice.
Took down a few of the ideal site numbers for future reference. Lots and lots of trees, numerous trails lead in and out of the park. The NCT runs about a 1/4 mile away from the campground. A well used mountain bike trail is also at the entrance to the campground. The lake has a drive-up launch for the canoe/kayak folks. A couple of guys were trying their luck at fishing.

My opinion: A great place for a get together, any takers?? The campground has a lot to offer. I think you all know how I feel.
