    fill suppliers for quilts

I have been searching for a supplier of polarguard fiberfill for an underquilt. Yes a newbie to hammock camping soon learns the need for an underquilt.

Also would appreciate any info on an alternate light weight fill other than down that is extremly compressable.

    Amazing what you can do

I don't personally know of a supplier for polarguard, but have you tried the 'contact us' page on polarguard.com? They can probably give you a list of sellers if you contact them directly. Also, they have a 'where to buy' page on their site, but it is under construction.

Alternatively, you might try contacting BlackBishop351 (member of this forum). He makes the synthetic Potomac underquilt. I'm sure he can tell you where he sources his materials.

thru-hiker is also a good sopurce for the Polarguard Climashield.

Also Ray Jardine uses Polarguard 3D in his quilts. You could contact him to see if you could purchase the 3D from him. I think he prefers the 3D over the Climashield.

Ray doesn't use 3D anymore. He has switched to Climashield.

get climashield instead. climashield xp is the best from thru-hiker.com, and climashield combat is just below that from owfinc.com. both are supposed to be warmer/lighter than polarguard. they are both continuous filament polyester, and are both made by the same factory in knoxville tennessee, but the climashield is supposed to have higher clo values. you could google clo values and probably learn more, and the guy at thru-hiker knows alot about the stuff too good luck.

The rep from Climashield told me that the CS XP was the best for maintaining loft, losing "only" 20% with lots of use. I don't know if he meant only compared to other CS or compared to PG. But, in my experience, PD Delta loses a bit more than 20% loft with use, so maybe CS XP is the best overall.
