Completely new to hammock camping. I haven’t even camped in it yet! A couple months ago I was planning for a multi-day float down the Buffalo National River in AR, and was searching for a new one man tent for setting up camp on the gravel bars. One thing led to another and I came across hammock set-ups. I always steered clear of hammocks because I have had bad experiences with them being uncomfortable with my knees and feet going to sleep. But I found the Warbonnet Ridge Runner, and read nothing but positives. I decided to bite the bullet and purchased it and a Superfly tarp. Also bought some Dutchware (6 ringworms, 2 stingers, Dutch hook) for my set up.
Right now I’m just playing with the setup and getting use to it. So far I have been super happy with it! Planning on my first camping trip with the hammock in Northwest Arkansas along the Buffalo River in the beginning of October. Look forward to trying it out over a weekend!
I mainly plan on using it when I go camping in NW Arkansas and Colorado. Look forward to using this forum to increase my knowledge on hammock camping.
