that's about right ... but maybe you could improvise ... and get a few more in there. There's always other trail heads and shuttling. Just a thought

There's plenty of room up at the Tablerock parking lot. Looks like there's about one mile of trail between the two so that's an option.

Depending on your final route that might be a perfect spot to leave some vehicles. It's a bit of a loop by car ... right now they've not got the gate open nor it appears the brush cleared off the road from the storms but that should be taken care of by this trip.

The parking lot at Spence is deep... we could double park.

Might as well say I'm not going to be able to make this trip. Since our 17th Anniversary is actually on the weekend this year we're going to try to go celebrate it somewhere.

    Exclamation Gorge update

Just spoke with the Nebo Forestry Service office ... a couple issues:

    1) Permits ... you only need one permit per group of ten (ten being the legal size limit). I ordered a permit under my name and it's being mailed to my house. Jerry ... (828) 652-2144 is the number to call. Give them a call and have them send you one. Since I might not catch up with you all on Friday if I can make it ... I'd suggest another of you call and get another permit. Remember they're only needed for Friday and Saturday nights and for a max of 10 in a group. Don't mention you're part of a larger horde of tree hanging aliens!!!

    2) Table Rock Road ... out of commission still. Apparently along with the trees and damage from the ice there's a rock slide that has the road closed off to the Table Rock Parking lot. She advised to check back about mid April for an update. I really don't think this will effect the trip in May ... but we'll keep a check on it.

I've emailed the fella in charge of the work being done on the Linville Gorge Trail and asked him for updates also. I have a feeling they'll be through by mid-May with good weather.

Geez, Ken & Hawk-eye, having you guys help is like having travel agents and backwoods guides!

If no one calls for another permit by lunchtime, I'll be able to do it.

    Thank you very much!
