OK ... re-packed the pack. Looking good.
Not sure if I will carry 4 or 5 days of food since Hickery are in for a while.
We may actually get back to a car to re-sup and then try and find ya'll ... somewhere b'tween Pinch-In and Conely on Saturday night ..... correct?
We are going to some major exploring and poking around. Been a long time since him and I and The Turk have had this kind of time together in the Gorge ... or anywhere!!!

Yup. That's where we should be.

I've been laying out all my gear and starting on the feed bag, too. I'll probably do the re-supply from the car at some point. Maybe a night or two, re-supply for the group hike, then re-supply after that and do another night or two.

Jerry, there is (or at least there was) a kiosk just out of that picture to the left with USFS info on it. It is just where the trail up TR leaves the parking lot. You could thumb tack notes there, maybe on the backside of it, or tie ribbon to one of the posts.

I'm guessing we should pass the parking area by noon, even with the side trip.

Maybe something as simple as building a little rock pile along the side wall of the outhouse. Any other suggestions?

    Jerry,

I've not done the MST from Spence trail head, but I believe Ken mentioned it will take approx 1 hr to get to the intersection of MST/TRT from Spence Parking. So leaving from the Spence parking area 10am, MST to TRT, hike up to the summit, looking around (30+/- mins) and hike down to the TR parking lot, it'll probably be about noon (+/-) when we pass through the parking area.

Sound about right to you Ken and Michael??

That sounds about right Glen, plus or minus lollygagging time!

I have not been all the way up the MST either, but I was close.

MtnCmpr has graciously agreed to deliver to the Gorge a pair of Dutch clips for CoolsDays, and IX UQs for Hedcase & Skippy. MtnCmpr will be at Spence parking lot for the Friday morning departure.

    Thanks, MtnCmpr!

MacEntyre - I'm sorry you won't be joining us. I was looking forward to talking with you again. This trip might have been my idea, but it was you that gave me the kick in the pants to set the date and start the planning. Thanks.

    Anytime, Jerry!

Thank you for the kind words. We'll just have to do it again!

I was telling MtnCmpr on the phone that it's been 30 years since I hiked down that ridge. I was really looking forward to it. However, I had a better offer, which I will explain next week. Anyway, I plan to take Hawk-eye up on his offer, perhaps while it's still cool during June.
