Yeah it was a whirlwind DIY weekend ... didn't earn any points with the blonde on this weekend!!! Had three hikes with the boys in the local park so I'm still good with the dogs!

I just googled brolite....its kosher and organic....I must have the wrong spelling, or it is raingear you can eat maybe?

If its over 80 degrees out you might not even wear the poncho if it rains. Maybe at night? Hiking in or out at 80 or above means a pack cover, shorts and a tee shirt and a widebrimmed hat. The rain will probably feel good.

I might skip the shorts. If the trails there resemble the ones near water hear there's cutgrass, dog hobble and ticks. I'll be sportin my permethrin treated Tilley though.

Cleared the schedule at work, so I am good to go!! After reading this thread for the 5th time, and viewing past pics, I'm pretty psyched for this trip.

Now have to strategically plan an arrival time. It's about a 9 hour drive according to Mapquest, which means I'd have to leave at 1 in the morning.

My question is are there other parking areas along the trails to meet up with the group along the trail, just in case I leave later? I'm haing difficulty reading the maps.

My suggestion would be to got to the Table Rock parking lot ... just down the road from Spence ... that could save you some time if you get there later. IF much later then go to Wolf Pit and hike up to meet them on Shortoff.

Maybe they can figure a time from Spence, sightseeing on Table Rock and down to give you a better idea of when you could safely start from TR lot and catch them. If you arrive say 10 they might be behind you.

Mac will be heading up later Friday ... so might be good to just plan to join him.

Oh you're more than welcome. 9 hours is a long commute ... I'd seriously look into hooking up with Mac ... that way you don't have to risk life and limb to get there and he's fun to hike with too!

If all goes well, I may meet you Fri morn at Spence Ridge parking area. Of course, I'll be able to tell more that week.

I know Mac (later Fri) and Hawk-Eye (Sat) are arriving after Jerry is pushing off (Fri.- 10am), but if you're interested, I'm leaving either Thurs evening or early Fri. am. and you are welcome to catch a ride with Nooner and me. We'll be coming back on Monday.
