Does this gorge treat its inhabitants to winds coming from both ends? I get those a lot around here. Sounds like a herd of rhinos thundering down the mountain before it blasts your tarp. Twenty minutes later, the same herd hits you from the other direction. makes me wanna be out already.

Soundwitness getting there about noon has wreaked havoc on my plans to pick up carolina BBQ enroute to the trailhead for my Friday night dinner ( and I have no complaints for a man willing to drive from NJ). Any advice on the closest GOOD bbq to the trailhead and when they open? If not, I may have to foul up the place with Western style bbq picked up in Tennessee the day before.

A man's gotta take his bbq and banana pudding seriously you know!

    Allergic reactions

Anyone going on this trip have reactions to bee stings?
There are a few yellow jacket nests around & I got popped on the leg by a bald face hornet once
If you have issues you might want to carry an Epi Pen, just in case.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

OK. I've not met Brad or wfuballer21, I just remembered Brad winning the big Marathon in LG last year or year before.

I hear ya!! BBQ in NJ is non-existant. At least not that is distinctly palatable

BBQ in NJ.......think shreaded KFC with ketchup and brown sugar! Yuch!!

Speaking of toes "riding in the front of the bus", don't forget to cut those toe nails... especially the big ones
I saw what long toe nails can do for a person on a long, down hill hike
Fortunately (for me), it wasn't my toes
