Just got off the Phone with Skippy, We will both be coming to the Trailhead Thursday night around 8 or 9. Is anyone planning on camping at the trailhead? I believe we will most likely go to the one Mac, Myself, and Capital Bill camped In October. The one 1/4 Mile down the old FS road. Gonna stay there, then off to Louises' for breakfast Friday morning. Anyone that can make B-fast, are welcome!! We will be at Louises' around 8:30 if anyone wants to come drink a cup of coffee!!!

Hey guys should be there early Sat. meeting Cooldays at Spence. Last time I was in LG was 15yrs ago. I seem to remember following a trail from Tablerock down into the LG and crossed the river at a rocky area and picked up the LGT. Does anyone know of a trail in that area, I don't see it on my map. I remember it was very steep coming down from TR because one of the guys I was with slipped and broke his wrist.

Sounds like you went down Little Table Rock Trail to Spence, and then Spence to the river. Little Table Rock is very steep. After it joins Spence you would be following a creek to the river.

Like Ken said that sounds like Little Table Rock trail ... you'll have a better time crossing the river below Spence now ... there's a two span log bridge that makes it a piece of cake.

Hey Hedcase. I plan on being up there about the same time Thursday night. Maybe earlier if I can get off work early. First timer to the Gorge. I got good direction from Ken to the Spence Ridge parking area. What will be the best way to locate you?

If anyone coming in from Interstate 40 at Morganton is interested, there is a good place to eat breakfast (and lunch/supper) at a restaurant named Abeles. (I like the breakfast buffet, they even have liver mush). Get off I-40 at exit 105 and go North about 1 long block. Abeles on the left (hospital entrance on the right).
Tim, not pushing at all pardner, but any news yet if you'll be catching a ride with Nooner and me? We'll be leaving early Fri. morning (breakfast in Morganton at Abeles).
Mac, I'd like to pick up those items Thursday at the latest. Get back to me.
