Someone asked about the condition of Leadmine. Here's a photo from late last summer. As you can see some kind person has dug the footpath level. There are three gullies to cross, the deepest being about 15 feet. They have some steps dug into the sides. Then there is the drop to the river at the end. Be careful there as it is steep and could be slick.

It's a continuation of the road to Spence, so it could be a pretty good road. However, I have not been on it in 30 years...
Mac, were you wanting to complete the loop or do an out and back from Table Rock? I'd like to be able to see some more of the sites while I'm there.

You could complete the loop and either hike up to TR from Spence or ... get a ride back to your cars ... shouldn't be a problem.

    Huh?

I want to catch up with Tinker's Brigade so we can hike with them on Saturday and Sunday. I'm not coming out until Monday morning!

If you want to leave your car at Spence, I'll give you a ride to Table Rock. Then you can leave on Sunday without getting a ride to TR.

Spence to Table Rock is about 2.5 miles? If so, that won't be too bad. I didn't want to be looking at an extra 5 miles after hiking 10.

It's Linville Gorge miles ... little different at the end of a long day. Anyway you have options!

I figured we were gonna catch up with them. Sort of like a dog and a UPS truck. What's it gonna do if it catches one?

That being said, I'll need to be heading out Sunday. I think I can do the rest of the loop back to Table Rock.

Well I was hoping that it would not be prairie!

So is it much worse than the Blacks and Shining Rock? If there are some sort of mythical trolls or goblins wandering about down there, a little forewarning would be much appreciated.
