Hey,Thanks guys.Looking forward to crossing paths again.Shug and I hiked the LGT north to south pert-near 20 years ago and came back up to KMH on the MTS trail,logging roads and maybe a few trees,hitch hiked back to the car then hit the AT at Roan Mnt and did the Humps.Reckon I can still muster up that much get in the getalong.Can't wait to get back to ye old Carolina Canyon.We'll figure out a plan as the trip closes in.Ya-Hoo!

Well, just got back from a good time at Hot Springs. Running Feather, Capitol Bill, Acercanto, & I did a little "training" for Linville on the Round Top Ridge trail to the AT to Tanyard Gap then down into Hot Springs. Left at 3:00pm got back at 8:00pm, 10 miles in 5 hours...not bad!

All in all had a fun time with alot of other hangers, now I'm waiting for these 3 weeks to pass so I can get to that beautiful Gorge in May.

Looking forward big time to seeing all my fellow "Rats". This is going to be GREAT!!!

Is the trailhead off of Kistler Memorial Hwy? And were you looking to go clockwise or counterclockwise on your proposed route? How many permits will we need, and how is parking?

Are those enough questions at once?

The trail head is on the eastern rim ... Spence Ridge Trail Head ... and the last I heard they're talking about going clockwise.

Permits should be fully covered 1 permit per groups of 10. So the whole group will be broken up into legal groups of 10 or less. Parking at Spence might fill up ... it's a poplar trail. But in that case shuttling can be arranged.
