Since I was solo I decided on a change of venue, and did indeed park at Sebago boat launch and went the other way, up Seven Hills and then Tuxedo-Mt Ivy around to Breakneck, etc. Found a spot and pulled over vicinity of Conklin hill. Really breezy last night but still a lot of fun, although a bit warmer and some leaves would be nice... still looks too much like November! Hot dinner and then Fireball and a cigar as a nightcap.

Like BGR, I saw a heapin' helpin' of deer. I tried to get the one below to look up at me, but all kinds of shouting and whistling couldn't convince her to raise her head for a photo. These things are totally tame.

Looks like a nice hike. There’s a few lollipop or figure 8 routes in Uwharrie National Forest near me that have similar elevation changes. Also look a lot like your photos this time of year, although the leaves are starting to emerge.

Indeed, another nice loop without too much elevation change, and most of it is right at the start when you're fresh. Plenty of spots to hang it up when you've had enough.

These are nice because it's a good way to introduce friends and relatives who are just getting started... don't wanna kill 'em with 20 miles and 4000 feet the first day!

Couldn't take it any longer needed to try out the new pack
Went into work early and left early
Arrived around 2.30, packed for 2 nights just because if all works out it's a possibility
Decided to try camping by island pond
I arrived and a large group of car campers encompassed the area (wth) was wondering how they got all that stuff in there until I saw their cars parked not far away
On onwards I went around the pond
    Ran out of water
Found water then decided to just setup somewhere
    Found a nice little ridge
I went to mark it and low and behold it was already marked from 3 years ago when I scoped it out, truly a small world
So here I am a little over 5 miles and and 1300' in about 3 hours
Had a little rain, small mosquitoes are out.
Maybe time to install the bug net in coming weeks.
Now to eat dinner and relax
So far I am.loving the new pack
Still having some foot problems to work out, but overall a great day

    I'm jealous!

Glad you were able to get out. Not supposed to be a bunch of rain. Enjoy!

    Goodmorning
Rained on and off after midnight
Had yotes come in pretty close
    Tons of scat around
I had to show them who was the apex predator here
Sun came out just at sunrise for a minute, now back to foggy and dreary
Made coffee spilled it over all.my cook kit
    Good times
Think I am going to just stay in camp to around 10 or when the sun comes out, then go out and meander around out to valley of boulders as I haven't been there in some time
Then will see if another night is in order (god knows I have enough food) with a close out in the am
