    The Black Bird Foot Box?

So my current set up is the HH SS, with a Super Fly with doors. I keep reading about this foot box thing on the Black Bird. It's got my attention cause i find my HH not roomy enough in the foot area, and then there's the tight wad of fabric cutting across my calf. Apparently a common complaint with HH's. Searching through the Warbonnet threads i find no such complaint. Does the foot box really eliminate or reduce that tight spot near the feet?
I know part of the problem with my HH is probably cause i'm an over size load for my HH expedition. I'm 5'10 and 270 lbs.
Is it worth the cash to make the switch just for the foot box?

    HI:
I have a blackbird 1.7 DL and I have no problem with the hammock, in the feet, calf or any where else. I have never owned a HH so I could not compare hammocks fairly, but at 5' 10" 275 lbs I can say it is the best Hammock I have ever owned.

I'm not sure it's even possible to have any cramped feelings in the Blackbird when you're 5'10".
    Trust nobody!

Agreed. I'm 5'8" and it SWALLOWS me. Nice, though.

I'm 6'5" tall and have sufficient room in my Blackbird!

The only time I've noticed a stiff line under my calf was when I had it hung wrong, two minutes of tinkering with my straps and it was sorted.

    Great bit of kit.

Yah I had that sort of problem with the HH I had for a while, it got returned and replaced with a BB per all the great things that everyone here said about them. Now I am one of those people saying all the great things about the BB. I have had the chance to try a few things out and still like the BB the best. Most of us would say you can't go wrong for the investment in a BB, but in the off chance you do not like it they tend to sell very quick in the For Sale section.

If you hang the blackbird really tight, you might feel a bit of that pressure on your calves. If you loosen up the suspension a bit, it will go away. The ridgeline shouldn't be piano-string tight.

The Blackbird and the HH ULBA are the same dimensions in terms of fabric, but the lay of the BB is different - that tight ridge is still there if you hang it just so, but in the BB it is much easier to avoid (if it shows up at all) due to being able to be more on the diagonal. Or so it feels to me - I do not remember being able to spread out in quite the same way in the HH.
