    OH> February 2021 Ohio Hang?

Any interest in a Hang in Ohio in February? Got my new Dream Hammock Sparrow and wanting to try it out. (Thank you Randy.) I am available for each weekend and most weekdays if anyone is interested.

It all depends on how much snow we get this weekend and how long in hangs on. Mohican State Forest offer some trails that with enough snow would make a polk nice. When we were there in December, someone brought a polk. About 1.5 to 2 inches of snow. I haven't seen snow deep enough for snow shoes in Ohio since the blizzard of '78. There may be areas east of Cleveland that have enough snow for snow shoes but I have not heard of any hammocking places in that area.

Well if we're looking mid-Feb on how about the 20th? Up near Cleveland sounds good but I'm not too familiar with the campgrounds there.

We've never really found a good spot up north. Mohican is most likely for for the north. My schedule is nuts with Physical Therapy and family stuff, but I'll will try to make any hang.

Has anyone ever checked out the walk-in sites at Scioto trail state park? https://ohiodnr.gov/static/documents...ailcampmap.pdf

I called this morning. All sites (including the walk-ins) must be reserved. Site cost is $19.00 per night. We can have up to six people on a site but she was not sure there were enough trees for six to hang on a site. She did say that at this time of year if there were not enough trees, we could move into the woods some. She recommended sites 61-65 for the trees.

Another place to look at in the north (Akron area) might be Big Bend Campground. https://thedyrt.com/camping/ohio/big...it-metro-parks
It appears to be free. Unfortunately, no campfires are allowed. Restroom at the bottom of the hill. Not sure if water is available in winter.

Big bend looks interesting. I'd be up for trying that.
