Nice. but spectra is flat, and buzzes in the wind.
An emergency of my own making...is still an emergency.
hippo it would take a lot more wind than I would want to hammock, in to makes this stuff buzz, HOWEVER take a hint from truckers, acouple of twists in their flat load hawling ratchet belts keeps them from vibrating.

Hey JimS, thanks for posting. What you've shown is what was called a "Utility Constrictor Rope". The post that started it, and the whoopie mania as a side product is here.
What many of us have learned is that a UCR works most reliably if the tail (the end OTHER than the one with the blue be-ribboned ring) has some kind of tension, e.g., weight or is pulled by a prusik loop.
Search for UCR and see all the ways your idea has been taken

It looks strangely like a UCR ("unversal constrictor rope") installed backwards. Have you hung from this yet?
Hmmm ... "utility" ... "unversal" ... I can't keep up with these abbreviations and acronyms.
thanks for your reply jim i searched on e-bay ireland then uk then america and still cant find it, not to worry anyway.
Spectra is too slippery for this to work well.
I guess this isn't anything new, so anyway use other less slippery cord to do it. SORRY
