Putting it into chair mode can help getting in.

A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants.
Griddleporn: Interesting. I'll try that.
Are there any of you guys who've received your 5.0/UL who also had the 4.0 (XL)? I'd love to hear some personal comparisons other than the advertised differences (goes both for the hammock and the now larger tarp)
Still no news on your front @Shug?
Yep.. There's no difference in comfort. it's really just the bug net an the zipper, that has been changed.

Nice blog post and video review, appreciate the info.
Regarding the slippery fabric on the UL - would you say it's mostly noticeable when you're in your sleeping bag, or is it very noticeable in everyday hiking clothes as well?
My other question is about the tarp - with the old Skjold I've often found that it's hard to get a good tarp pitch for wind protection without bumping into it, and if it's pitched high enough to avoid bumping into it, it's too small to cover for the wind. Do you (or anyone else) have any info on how the new tarp pitches with hiking poles at the front/back? (Are you able to cover yourself from wind without bumping into the tarp?)
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
The fabric is a bit more slippery in general, but I definitely don't think it's a major issue. If you can handle an ordinary Draumr, then you'll be just fine in an UL too.
Regarding the tarp, the new Skjold 10 gives you significant better protection. You don't have to use poles at the front/back, but it does give you some clearance. I find that if I pitch it very low without poles, the head end of the hammock will rise up against the tarp when the hammock is not occupied (the hammock is heavier at the foot end). Once I'm in it - problem solved.

After a ton of research I purchased the Draumr Ultralight and received it this past Saturday. After setting the whole system up a couple times I'm very pleased with it. The fabric is slippery but once you get the hang of getting in and out its a non issue, everything is very very well made and well thought out. Setup is super easy and everything is labeled well so you can't really set it up wrong.
