I have been camping for years (decades actually), mostly BWCA/Quetico from a canoe, but I am just getting started with the hammock. Lots for me to learn and this forum looks like a great place to get started. So many choices!

Welcome to Hammock Forums. Check out "Adventures with the Marine", and "Shugs" YouTube videos. Lots of great advice available here and there... T
Welcome! I’m in Green Bay myself. Lots of good hammock action here in WI. If you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods feel free to shoot me a message and we can geek out about hammock stuff.

Welcome to the forum! I'm down in Milwaukee and hosting a hang next month in your neck of the woods! Check out the thread on this year's BACONFEST! We will be at Lake Wissota State Park in Chippewa Falls. You'll see a lot of hammock set ups and can ask all your questions. Hope you can make it!

Well hello neighbor.
I am using a homemade 1.6 hyper D fabric hammock with a One Tigris tarp. The tarp is a bit heavy and I will probably be looking at a different one in the future. as I am just starting out camping with a hammock I was reluctant to spend a lot of money on it. I also purchased a Jacks R Better underquilt and top quilt. Which are very nice. You should have seen my first set up, it was a Hodge podge of stuff I had laying around but it helped me decide that I prefer a hammock over a tent. I really am enjoying the whole new to me aspect of this.
