Good Luck on your trip, my cousin lives in Anchorage. I'm jealous. Watch out for the moose.

Hey ; Allot of your route is from Vancouver one of the only ways you can do it. Large portions of it are not that scenic as your inland of the coastal mnts but here's a small route alternative you might think about. Instead of going Van>hope>cache cr. and north try going Vancouver>Sqwamish>whistler>pemberton>Mnt Currie >Duffy lake rd-hyway 12>lillooet>hyway 12 to pavillion to just above Cache cr then turn left and go north. Really some nice scenery, twisties etc.
Hyway one to Hope is MAJOR Freeway. Frazer Canyon is nice but also freeway. North of Cache cr traffic slows and things get flat and wide open. On your way back i hope your Planning to go from Jasper to Banff ,,kananaskas hyway and on to Waterton/Glacier NP as it will be one of the highlights of the trip. If you do the whistler suggestion you might try camping at Pavillion Lake or Marble Canyon for the night all tho that might be a bit far for your schedule. Ok i just checked the milage and its under 200 miles so doable.
Camping. Camping in BC , provincial sites, will probably be somewhat primitive to what your use to in that there's no running water and pretty rustic campsite and they cost $$.
Forestry rec sites can be used anywhere in Bc for a $27 permit bought at a sporting goods store or forestry building. Pick one up along the way. Having said that BC is like one big park which does offer stealth camping most everywhere.
On a side note. If any of you guys are climbers and you take the hyway route through Sqwamish, which i encourage, i suggest you stop at the bottom of the chief in sqwamish, walk behind the tourist parking lot, connect with the trail which in 15 minutes puts you right at the base of the sqwamish Chief and definitely worth it.If your not climbers do it anyway.
Hope this helps a bit.

Norwood. I live back and forth between Alaska and Michigan right now due to my parents failing health. I have lived in Alaska full time for the past six years and have hunted, hiked, and fished all over the state. I would be happy to help you out with some info, and some general do's and don'ts. Send me a PM if you would like some info. You are gonna love this trip you have planned, and yes you can hang alot in AK. SMG.

I have hiked the Crow pass trail from Girdwood to Eagle River, and done shorter hikes in Danali. Camp Ground are sparse so Happy Hanging. Beware the Moose before the Bear.
