Well...

The wife and I finally got to go out for our 1st overnight car camping trip of the year this weekend. This was also the maiden voyage for the 2 new DIY hammocks and the 1 DIY UQ that the wife had made. She also put some work on the cheap ($45.00) Sil-Nylon tarps I picked up and they worked like a champ.

Here is a picture of our tarp setup...

We overlapped the tarps because we hung our hammocks side by side. This worked out O.K. but... the tarps are just too small to protect us against the cold winds that we encountered Saturday night.

She made a down UQ from an old down throw we had and I just used a pad. She was as snug as a bug and I was O.K. as long as I didn't move off the pad. My mind is made up and I am either having her make me an UQ or I am buying one, before our next trip (the end of April).

You can’t really see them because of the bug nets (ENO Bugnets), but trust me, they are in there.

All in all it was a great time and what’s more important is she is really excited about our next trip.

BTW... Jaiko (our dog) also had a great time...

I have also uploaded a short youtube video of the trip...
