Did a very short day hike up Mt. Tammany in the Delaware Water Gap. Rain washed our planned weekend backpacking/camping trip away so this was our consolation day hike. Its a short hike, only about 3.5 miles but the first 1.3 miles is up up and more up climbing over plenty of rocks and boulders along the way. There is a spectacular view of the Delaware Water Gap with the river, from above. I have kayaked the Delaware River before and this section is where we end up. You can easily extend this hike and head to Sunfish Pond ( NJs own Glacial Lake) making it a really nice, roughly 11.5 mile loop but since we were on a tight time schedule we just kept it short and did the 3.5 mile loop up Tammany and around to the Appalachian trail and back to car. The trip video is only 3 minutes 16 seconds long but you can see the rocks, the views and a nice waterfall too!!
