    Wooki 15D or 20D

Not sure what fabric to choose , 15D or 20D for the outer wooki fabric.
I am happy with the 20D fabric but the 10D of my Vesper quilt also works well.
Maybe worth takes 15D and save some weight ... ?
    Any thoughts ?

    I'd get the thinnest possible.

On my last quilt order I bought 10D, Fern green I think. We've have 15 and 20D quilts, and I much prefer the thinner material.

Well, yea, I was speaking of underquilts specifically, but I prefer the feel of thinner fabrics as well. Not that that's a concern with a wookie.

This was actually how I noticed the fabric differences years back. My wife had ordered a different quilt, and the color she wanted was apparently 15d as opposed to the 20d we had. It felt much lighter, silkier. Afterwards I gave more attention to the fabric choices. My wife still uses color as a main deciding factor, (she went with 15d on the last purchase due to color limitations in 10d), but I'll buy a quilt with Ronald Mcdonald printed on it if its the only light fabric option.

I'd think the only reason I'd opt for heavier fabrics was if I was Kayak/Car/bike camping, camping with dogs, or I used my quilts "rougher"- such as wearing around camp perhaps?

    15. Or 10 if you can.

So far Ive been very happy with the durability of 10D, surprisingly. I am careful though. 15 is plenty durable for an Underquilt. The odds of a UQ getting damaged is about the lowest of all insulation gear.

I damaged two 10D underquilts. Since then I prefer stronger fabrics. The Wooki I currently use most is 20D, but my 15D underquilt feels strong enough, too.

I've been using 10D for 10 years now and have not had any problems.

I've also had no issues with my two 7D quilts (30deg TQ and 50deg UQ) but I have not been using them nearly as long... less than 2 years, and of course seasonal-dependent rotation within my quilt collection.

This feedback makes sense to me. My TQ in 10D is still in perfect condition after a year, 15 night I think ...
A 15D would be enough for a wooki than :-)
