    Hammock hanging inside.

I want to hang my hammock in my room, and the only option I have is an eye-screw (not bolt) into a 2x4 in the wall behind the drywall. Would anyone trust just a 3ish" eye-screw in a 2x4 to hold them up?

I've done some pretty extensive research on the forum about other options, but it looks like due to the size and layout of my room, this is my only option.

Thats what i hang on in my living room but one is in the corner and the other is in a door opening so there both doubles. Its just how it worked out. BTW, i own my place.

You can't fit a hammock stand in there? I use the Vario by Byer of Maine. It's a bit long, but it saves me from putting holes in the walls.

Also, you can look up the strength rating of different screws and such. It's often on the box, but I'm sure there's a website somewhere. Engineers have books (forget the title) where all this stuff is tested and recorded, so they know what their factor of safety is on each project.

The screw I have has a 320lbs rating. It's really the strength of the 2x4 in the wall that I'm worried about. And nope. No luck on a stand. The room is only 7x10 at best.

A stand is by far your best option and they're fairly cheap and easy to build too. However, I hung my hammock that way for a couple of months without problem. I did sleep A LOT better once I built my first stand. I was always just waiting for those 2x4s to let go.

I think you'd be better off going through the ceiling instead of the walls.

I thought about the ceiling, but to get it low enough to get in it comfortably, there's way too much sag. So to be able to utilize the limited space I have to make it work, it seems like hanging from the wall going corner to corner is my only choice. I assume the walls will have a smaller chance failure with a stud in the corner?

It seems the corner would be better, but I'm no expert.
