    Upgrading from a Double ENO

Well I love my ENO Doublenest...but of course, I had to buy a tarp (Keltek 9) and a bugnet.
There are no real pockets, other than the stuff sack.
I can't keep the pad in place.
You get the picture...now that I only hang, it's time to think about upgrading.

Looking hard at a Clark Jungle Hammock....comes with tarp and bugnet.
I'm fairly big, 6"1' and 260lbs. The troop does some backpacking, but most of our camping is accompanied with the troop trailer and kitchen sink...so I don't think weight is too much of an issue.

Any help is much appreciated. These forums have been a huge blessing...from the Dutch Clips to the anticipated delivery of the Buff to the DIY hammock stand (which works perfectly).

    Thanks,
    Fuzzie

I know it's tempting to get new gear but ....
instead of a pad try an under quilt with your eno.
I converted a summer weight center zip sleeping bag
and it's much nicer than a pad!
    Warbonnet makes a nice bugnet
and you can give it the megamouth mod
so you can slide it over your hammock when not needed.
Then there's a variety of tarps to choose from ,
depending on your needs and usage or diy it.

I just received my KAQ New river and I love it, no more pads that move around and CSS. I also have the ENO bug net, well made.

How does the Warbonnet compare to the Clark's Jungle?

I was leaning towards a clark before I found the Hammock forums, and then got educated ....... I really like my blackbird, and so do all the others. If you read thru some you'll see that and all those people can't be wrong! At a recent group hang someone brought out a clark to show, we looked at it, it was kinda neat, but I guess we were all happy with what we already had. I'd suggest getting to a group hang and try out and see what you can first to make up your own mind, that's the best way!

Got my new BB dual layer...sweet.
Can't wait to try it out at summer camp next week.
I take it I can put a pad between the layers?

yea, the idea is that it wont move around on you in the middle of the night. Haven't found the time to try it out myself but I will!

    How is the Kelty Tarp?

    For trade? PM me.

Working out pretty good...about the only thing you could do to improve on it would be to figure out how to put a skylight in the middle, so on those nights it clears up in the middle of the night, you can look up and see the stars. Ever see a mod that does that?
