    Daaza's work trip Nothern Australia

2 weeks ago I was 1500klm east of Australia this week I'm sweating it out in the Northern part of Australia,.
    Gulf of Carpentaria.
Weather wise It's always ......HOT, just the adjective in front changes. Really is 2 seasons wet or dry
    I was here in winter 39`c (102f)
Today 38`c (100f) but somebody turned the humidity dial way up!!!
Flew to a mining town then drove 6 hours north to the coast, I stopped halfway to break out the Tensa4 and hammock for the night. I didn't need the UQ but the skeetas would've found me through the fabric if I didn't use one. Nobody within cooee out here which is how I wanted it. The last trip 3 months ago the hotel reception was broken into with locals looking for grog.
The river mouth I'm at is known for 2 things, huge Crocs and huge Barramundi. A local lady back in the 50s shot a Croc over 8.5 metres (28 feet).
I'm hoping to wet a line on the weekend before heading inland to an oasis in that flat barren land. Adele's Grove should provide some hammock friendly trees near the meandering Creek. Here's some pictures of my journey so far.

First photo leaving the digs for the last couple of days then out each side of the ute.
    .

Fishing tomorrow then camping for 2 days.
Never get tired of the sunset coloursAn old building in Normanton and even statues make short work of fluoro blowins.

Left the coast and headed inland the ants nest were both sides of the road.
The blue car is what happens if you take on the cattle. When I got to where I was camping it was still over 41c (105f) so I decided to explore Lawn Hill National Park.

Sorry, I don't know this. When you refer to ants' nests, I don't know if that's slang for something or if those pictures that look like stumps are actually nests made by ants?

The ants dazza's referring to are termite mounds...and there's a lot of them !

...no salties out at Lawn Hill Np, just friendly freshwater crocodiles. It's on the to do list.

Termites. Their city cousins from a different family altogether are referred to as white ants but I believe these nest are the real Termites. There are Termites that build these nest in an east west layout as to catch the sun to keep the nest at a constant temp.
Lawn Hill National Park is truly an oasis in the bush.
Lush surrounds of pandas and picabeen they've built bath type entrances but as anyone who's grown up in Croc country knows I don't know I could enjoy a swim here alone. And I was alone +40 days the sane people are finding a/c.
The sign shows only freshies but.....
