As title says.
Parrot bay hammock.
Snakeskins made by me from $1.50yd Wally-world ripstop.
Wally-world 9' x 12' tarp (HD) One side brown, one side silver-gray. Ridge-line under tarp connected with caribiners and prussic loops
Hammock can have bug-netting shock-corded to the under-tarp ridgeline when needed.
Stakes just sticks.

Tarp ties: Bailing twine (redneck, but it works for now)
Strapworks ring buckle suspension (Need to buy different rings)
Black Diamond hotwire caribiners
Pad is the Wally-world "Ozark Trail" egg crate closed cell 24"x72"x0.5"

Had to make the pics smaller. Still big though.
Could not resist the hammock in skins and caribiner "Happy Face" pic. Yup. I'm weird.

my first tarp was a poly tarp...they work fine...only thing that sucks is the bulk

Thank you for the compliments. I lurked here for quite a while before joining.
In that pic where the blue sock things are hanging on the other line, those are the "tarp skins". Left those off for the picture. But OH BOY was it hard trying to roll that thing, and get the skins over. Since I made those for my bedroom hammock (diy) they aren't quite long enough to cover the tarp. Forget about trying to coil that thing up either. It is stuffed in there so tight that it could be doubled, and propped against the wall and support itself. Might make bigger ones or just forget the whole idea and stuff it in a separate bag. Probably do that since its huge anyway.
I like the idea of the light weight tarps, but I probably wouldn't be able to use one. The thick tarp blocks UV light. I can't believe that sil-nylon would block much if any. I have serious light/UV sensitivity issues, its a genetic thing effecting about 1-4 people per million, and any shade needs to block UV. Lucky me huh. Have to wear long sleeves, pants, hat, sunglasses, and gloves even in the summer. Any reflected light, have to wrap up my face too. It did feel pretty good lying in there though. Weather was gorgeous today. Perfect temperature mid 70's, light breeze, and no mosquitoes yet.

Great starter set up.

Besides the bulk the poly tarps are very noisy in the wind or rain. But I used my Parrot Bay under a blue poly tarp for a week at scout camp last summer.

I picked up a Guide Gear tarp over the winter and some Amsteel for suspension lines. Going camping with the boys scout troop this weekend and will set it up again. Much more comfortable than on the ground.
