Tex... keep me informed. It sounds like adding this to a Clark may be more involved then simply swapping everything. I have a Clark on the way so I can get something made up specific for Clarks.

If you end up needing something to make it work, let me know and Ill get it off to you.

We'll be waiting with interest to see how this new (pretty cool) system works out

Ok... So this weekend I got to learn a couple things.

One of those is with this system, you are at the mercy of always having your slings start at the end of the strap. This can be annoying and it can also leave you stuck in a spot where you have no room to get the suspension any tighter.

So I had a thought... and this would require the use of the marlin spike hitch. Flip the sling back around so the fixed eye is attached to the ring. The build the adjustable loop and the 2" loop of one end of the strap together. This connection serves no purpose other than to keep them connected. From there you set your MSH and then place your adjustable loop over the MSH.

Say you have your straps around your trees and you are left with 2-3' hanging down. Not enough to go around again, but also to much to get your hammock pulled tight. With the current set-up, you are stuck to finding a different set of trees to hang from. With the new idea, throw a MSH in one or both sides to take up that 4-6' total and you are golden.

Im not sure Im quite ready to change the design.... I would like feedback. For the folks that have one of these with the fixed eye in a thimble... You can adapt this new idea by using a soft shackle. Set your MSH and then with a soft shackle hooked through the thimble, set the shackle over your MSH. Its how I have it hooked up in some pics and a vid I recently posted.

Tom, it would be the standard way of attaching your sling to your webbing using the MSH. The difference would be that the unused webbing loop will be hanging from the adjustable loop, free to be. Connected, but not structural.

For those who already have the All in One, and want to use the MSH, then look at this...

And imagine the strap the MSH is tied in is already connected to the rope thimble. You would just be bypassing the connection and going right from the thimble to the MSH. SO basically the unsed portion of your strap would create a loop that hangs down.

I was thinking about how to shorten the straps on my incoming all in one suspension. I figured all I had to do was loop a nacrabiner throught the fixed eye rope thimble and use a MSH further up the strap leaving the excess dangling between the MSH and the fixed eye loop.

    Exactly.

OR.. I can eliminate the rope thimble, flip the sling around so the adjustable loop and the strap are connected and you can use the MSH as a means of setting your sling on the strap. This would leave the unused section of strap dangling and would eliminate the possibility of not having enough room to get your hammock pulled tight.

That's a good idea. Though the sling would be in contact with the straps when using the system as is i.e without a MSH right?
