    Hey there,

Welcome! There are some great places to hang in the SF bay area. Lately, I've spent several weekends up at Henry W. Coe park. A lot of the parks 'round here are beautiful though.

IMO, netting is a good thing. You never know how bad the bug situation is going to be 'til you arrive. In my experience, the bug netting has always been worth any minor hassles.

Personally, I'm fond of setups with 'built in' bug netting, like the Warbonnet Blackbird, Hennessies, Clarks, etc. If you think that you may occasionally want to skip the netting, though, you might want to consider a hammock that has separate netting; My housemate has an ENO SingleNest and he doesn't bother setting up the bugnet if its cold enough that there won't be mosquitoes.

In any case...there are plenty of great options out there! Good luck.

    This is how I think.

I live in Hayward. I've been hanging around the Ohlone Wilderness recently. Let's do some outings.

Dude Justin, when did you join the forums? I'd recognize that name anywhere.

A S.F. Bay Area campout would be a lot of fun. Also, it would be a great way to show off gear, hacks and modifications for newer hangers.

My primary hammock is still out getting a zipper installed. When that gets back...

I saw a trip report on the BPL forums about Henry W. Coe State Park. At least one of the participants was a hanger. I've yet to go there, but I hear its nice.

    Any other ideas?
