Okay, completely arbitrary -- how about June 12th & 13th at Inks Lake?

I can't think of anything we've got going on at that time. And it would definitely be warm enough for swimming and canoeing and getting in the water.

And its far enough out for folks to plan for.

Shall we reserve two campsites until we get more interest? Remember folks, its two cars and 8 people allowed per campsite.

Reservations have been made for two gloriously shady campsites, right down at the edge of the lake, with lots of trees, EASY access to extra parking and the restrooms / showers are on the same loop.

Sites 310 and 311 Arriving June 11th, leaving June 13th.

We drove by the campground yesterday and checked it out. Perfect hammock sites!

8 people allowed per site, but more sites can be reserved with no issues as long as you RSVP with enough time to make the reservation. Remember, this is the Texas hill country! Parks fill up fast!

Yup....and I for one plan to wander all over those trails, too!

For those with an interest in paddling, this lake is very popular for this, with one area they promote being the "Devil's Watering Hole"

As mentioned, we have two sites reserved right now. If you want to have your own, we so far have sites 310 and 311, right on the lakeshore in a well-wooded area. Be warned, though, the TPWD reservation system is currently undergoing an update, so you can't call the main line or reserve online until May 12th. You CAN, however, call the park.

I'm down for joining if there's still room available; Inks Lake is "down the road" from me.

Do we need to reserve another site?

not just yet -- so far we're up to an estimated 7 people out of the 16 total afforded by the 2 sites we reserved, but if you want to help contribute to allowing the possibility of spreading out for more, you're welcome to do so
