First outing with the DIY Ripstop by the roll Winter 12. After these photos were taken we got 4 inches of heavy wet snow dumped on us. High temp was 35 and low was 20. I woke up to the tarp being pushed in and contacting my UQ by a good layer of show. There was plenty of condensation on the inside of the tarp because I closed it completely to limit air movement under me so my UQ and hammock were quite wet in spots. Still slept soundly.
Lessons learned - The pull outs are most important in the direction of lay to keep the tarp from coming in contact with anything in case of condensation. I'd also benefit from staking out the sides wider to prevent that contact. I'm also going to add more velcro to the doors to help close those gaps.
Overall, pretty happy with the new winter tarp!
