Momentum would be nice, the price wouldn't, and we have a fair amount of sil to use.

One of the great things about the 2QZQ UQ Protector (I love typing that product name!) is that you can slack it off, or tighten it up, depending on how you want it to perform. In other words, you can ventilate it!

Far more flexible than a silnylon outer covering for an UQ...

    Any photos yet?

How does the cut\style compare to the Supershelter bottom?

My thoughts also. I wonder if the IX stuff would be any warmer with the more snug fit of the supershelter bottom. This is an intriguing concept. A 2Q zippered hyperlite with this setup and a Spinn Macat Standard would be nice and trim.

I can say a little about that...

The Supershelter UC covers the ends of the hammock completely and some of the bugnet at the ends. It has a shock cord BEEP (Bottom Entry/Exit Portal). To install it, you put the hammock inside, as you do with a sock, so it cannot be installed after the hammock is hung.

The Protector is a simple sheet of silnylon with loops in the corners and shock cord in the end channels. It is long enough to cover [the bottom of] most hammocks completely. It has no bottom opening, but is easy to pull aside and replace. It is very light weight. The loops are used to tie the corners over the ridgeline. The Protector can be installed after the hammock is hung.

Is this any different than a Garlington Taco? Without pics it's hard to tell...

For historical reference, JRB made neo a version of this several (6?) years ago. Not sure how it was different from the Taco but I think it had JRB-style supports.
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story
