If you have hung your hammock inside a van I'd like to know about it. I'm looking for a larger van and have wondered about this as an option........

might need to be a panel type truck in order to get the length of span you need. Otherwise should be doable.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

We will see if AS beats me but I remembered something about this from last year. Not sure if it is any help at all but here is something kind of on topic.

I once strung a homemade small Speer type hammock from the front passenger door inside to the back door on a 15 passenger van on a youth trip. It worked for a small girl but was tight.
I set my hammock up inside my dads van that I borrowed for a trip last week. It is (was) an Iveco Turbo Daily. (long wheelbase euro/panel van I suppose you might call it).
I planned to fit some U-bolts but when I went to try that there wasn't a good place to put them so I just used whoopies and a biner to the top of the bulkhead behind the drivers compartment (no problem). I couldn't get a biner to sit well above the door so I slung a hooked ratchet strap from 2 holes either side of the rear doors (backed up with a rope slung from the same point and a bunch of bungees to keep it all centred)
It's a pretty long van so I laid it in a straight line no problems. Ironically the van had a bed platform and matress in it already
Unfortunately just after I got to where I was staying for the week I popped out for a short drive and broke a timing belt. Had to get towed back home, drive back and slung the hammock between 2 trees.
If the van you are looking at is big enough and it look like theres some handy points to attach too there should be no problem. I was trying this as the bed platform was taking up valuable space in the van. It would be handy to be able to unatach one end and have more free space.
Maybe have a play about between small tree gaps and see what you feel is the minimum you can get away with.
