So, I'm working on my new Sprinter Weekender interior and of course item one is how to hang a hammock.

The van is really long. Behind the driver/passenger row it is 10' to the back doors, and it's 6' tall inside so practically perfect for a 10' hammock. I took some dogbones that were lying around, about 30" each I think and cut a couple pieces of sch 40 pvc I had and hung it off the doors.

I'll go back later and probably add a section of vinyl tubing to protect the amsteel, but it works like a charm!

Brilliant! Love the PVC/Amsteel combo. I had just asked a related question in another post yesterday about stringing my hammock from the exterior of my VW van - and I think you just solved the van part of the connection! Thank you!!

Thanks! It was a rare eureka moment.

The doors are super heavily hung so there's no way in heck my 180# is going to make them flinch. And I didn't have to buy anything or permanently attach anything. Win, win!

It's a length of amsteel with a locked brummel on both ends. You can do them whatever length you want.

    Opie did a tutorial here:

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=13328

There are others on here if you search for chain links or double ended locked brummel.

Here's a short one I use for extensions or attaching rings/cinch buckles to hammocks.

I make them if you need any.

Details. Just have it towed "down by the river."

You'll have a nice home away from home.
