Every time I pitch my WBRR, I have to go back and re-do the head end spreader bar even though it doesn't seem to actually do much. Things that make you go hmmm.

yep that earlier three-part pole was awesome. As a side sleeper, it's really nice to have something at your back, and the shape of the hammock with the pole section removed provided that back pressure. Sweet sweet dreams.
i had ruta locura make me a three-part pole a few yeas back, but i guess i assumed too much. They made me a 3 -part pole section, but when the middle part was removed, the other two parts didn't fit together. I sold it quickly and just keep holding on to my old aluminum 3-part poles.
i've got the three piece bar and it never occurred to me what this was for.
