zipper sew

Question on sewing a zipper into a double layer hammock. My plan is to roll hem both layers and then sandwich the zipper tape between the layers when i put it togeather. Does that sound right? lots of questions in the next few days I'm sure. My order from Dutch will be here Thursday.

This is a completely amateur answer, but I would roll-hem the two layers together, then sew the zipper on top of that.
