Wow, looks great, hammock nirvana!
Erk82,
Congratulations on joining the hammock community. From reading posts here, you'll discover that many people feel a little weird the first time sleeping in a hammock or if they've been sleeping in a bed for a while - like all winter and then start hammock camping in the spring. That's natural - new gear, new environment, out in nature (no locked doors for security), etc.
Also, after your first time you may need to make some adjustments; tighten or loosen the sag just a bit. Maybe put a small pillow under a knee. I hope you woke up feeling like you were sleeping on a cloud, or soon will as your muscles learn they can relax more than when sleeping on the ground (or in a bed).
Just a note that your setup looks great for shade and things that fall from the sky besides rain. However, if you did get more than a sprinkle, your tarp would become a swimming pool. You might know that already and had planned on dropping one porch mode corner a bit to provide a path for runoff. So sorry for the mansplaining,
Jazzy water bottle holder.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
@Erk82,
How did it go?
Bob
Welcome! I hope you had a comfortable, restful, night.

after hanging for about a hour learned two things one i need something under me got cold and damp and two need to play the adjustments of angle and tension of ridge line had it way too tight but can't wait to try again next weekend
Did you use an under quilt? Or a closed cell foam pad? Or neither?
Sometimes my hammock ridgeline is tight, when I’m in hammock. To loosen hammock ridgeline, try to get a 30* angle of hang.
Or you can do as I’ve done and try to get close to 30* angle of hang, but not close enough to loosen hammock ridgeline.
I step back from my hammock and look at suspension angle. I want it to look like happy face smile, rather than being horizontal or flat.
If the angle is too close to being horizontal, then there is increased pressure on suspension, hammock and trees.
So far my suspension has not snapped.
My hammock has not ripped.
And I’ve not pulled hammock trees onto my head.
This is a real danger. But I get close to 30* angle of hang.
