HillbillyHanger, both are good knots.
I was trying to get tarp ridgeline tight between trees. When I wrap a tensionless hitch around second tree, I pull cord tight along side tree before making contact with tree. Then while still maintaining tension on cord, I wind cord around tree two or three times. Then I finish with a half hitch followed by a slipped half hitch and lastly a few daisy chain stitches (loop through the loop)

I do this to try to get tarp ridgeline tight. Maybe not as tight as tarp ridgelines secured with Dutch’s titanium hardware—but close enough.

I tie both ends the same, except first tree is temporarily tied with a Siberian hitch. I’m just fidgety and do lots of unnecessary steps during setup.

Siberian hitch will hold, but hard to get it to tighten that end of tarp, because after I tie it, it cinches down, slides toward tree.

Have you gone online to see an illustration of tensionless hitch? It’s a real knot, unlike some of my other made up stuff.
