My hope is, that when this 1.5mm cordage becomes available, that the colors be solid, no colored tracer.

This sounds like a great line! I'd definitely pick some up if it can be used with hardware that accepts smaller diameter line (Line Lock Lights, etc.), works with knots and isn't as tangly as something like Zing-it. All for the weight of 1.75mm Zing-it? Sounds too good to be true!

Midshipman’s hitch looks exactly like taut line hitch with minor but important differences.

Up until 1945 the Boy Scout handbook showed the midshipman’s hitch version as the taut line hitch.

Then they changed to the taut line hitch version.
Get Grog Knot app. Look up both hitches. In the information section they explain the SNAFU. Boy Scouts (National) have been notified, but ossified bureaucracies tend to double down and refuse to change.
I don't know why this excellent website does not feature the taut line hitch. Unless I expect gales, I prefer it to the Midshipman as it is easier to move back and forth under tension and especially in the rain with the cord I have (cheap 1.5mm from Amazon I can't find anymore). I suppose with a more slippery line, it could be different.
At any rate, 1.5mm line is definitely my favorite and it's not easy to find! I had bought some expensive "no tangle" one of a beautifully bright orange from Trail to trail gear a decade ago, but it proved totally inadequate for knots : the coating would "explode" at the friction points and create mini hernias of the core cord that would then block proper adjustments using friction under load, which is the main interest of such knots. I suppose yours won't have this issue if you designed it with knots in mind. Do you sell overseas?
