I've been in and out of these rooms for a few years now but I'm happy to be back in. I guess the best way to describe me is a sober backpacker who is always looking for other sober backpackers to go on trips with in New England. The thing I like to do is hike into a backcountry site no more than a couple miles and set up camp and dayhike out of that spot the following day and hike out to the car the third day. That's what my buddy and I used to do. He is experiencing the joys of parenting small children while both partners work full time so their hands are pretty full.
As far as hanging, I've been hanging for about 15 years off and on. Hanging makes it possible to camp anywhere as you all know, which is good if folks like me end up at a backcountry site and there's a frat party going on there. You can bladder up at the water source and skit skat skootle doot on outta there. In years past would I have joined the frat party? Of course! That's not part of my life anymore so I don't hang around it.
Anyway... that's a little about me. Let me know if anyone wants to go on a trip like this sometime. I'm heading out with a buddy of mine this coming weekend and the next possible weekend woukd probably be the weekend after Father's Day.
Look forward to hearing from folks.
