Looking for someone who'll make a Dyneema tarp for Amock hammock

I have the Amock Dramur and the lightweight tarp. I contacted Joe from Zpacks and he mentioned that HammockTent.com used to make a similar 90-degree style design, but lighter than the AMOK. Does anyone know of a cottage manufacturer that will custom-make Dyneema tarps? Storm doors would be a plus! Here's a storm that passed a while in the Amock. I was in northern Algonquin a few days ago

Oh my! Hope you did not have a major tarp failure and it's a good thing you had a tarp made for the Amok. I have a 10'x12' generic quality tarp for mine, but because of the shape of the Amok, it's pretty hard to stay dry in a thunder storm.

I don't know of anyone doing DCF custom tarps, but Jared of Simply Light Designs made a great silpoly tarp with doors for me a couple years ago. We designed it specifically for the Amok Draumr. It probably weighs two and a half times what a dyneema tarp would, but it packs down much smaller. It is great for wind and rain, but you definitely had storm on your hands. The disadvantage of the 90 degree hammocks is that you can't batten down as much as a standard hammock. Just get as low and tight as possible.

Custom CAD designed sails for the boating industry would be an option, although these vendors are certainly capable of doing a custom shape, it is questionable whether or not they would be willing to take on such a small project.

However, leftover scraps might be available if you ask nicely.

I have the Skjold 10 UL Tarp from Amok that is made for the Draumr and have had zero problems getting wet in it. The tarp is actually very well made and can be pitched very easily. I don't know that eliminating weight from the tarp is going to help all that much. That hammock is just plain heavy, even the UL model.

Cross Hammock makes a DCF tarp with doors for the Cross Hammock. That should work for the Amok, too.

Dutchware does make a Two Person Xenon Tarp, with a 12-foot ridgeline and a 10-Foot Width from D-Ring to D-Ring, with the ITwo Internal Pole Mods.

I have one for my Amok 3.0 Camo and it works great. Not Dymeema but workable.

Bought the Two Pole Mod, for the wide 10-Foot Wide and 12-foot ridgeline.

    Very good option.

Why add the cost requirement of Dyneema fabric? I understand the strength factor if the tarp were going to be "abused". But if it's cut for the Amock, I'd think it would just hang there - like any other fabric. If you are already packing an Amock, I wouldn't think you were into UltraLite, but I could be wrong.

Without the Dyneema requirement, you have more options with SilNylon or SilPoly. With the cost savings, you could have two.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
