    Tried that one a long time back when I was trying friction hitches. I tried that, plus about 6 to 10 or more other friction hitches. Every one I knew and every one I could find on the internet. Some of them rather obscure.

    So does this work with the straight eye bury?
    If so, how much do you need to bury? Opie suggested 6" for a fixed eye with Zing-it.
    Although, from the looks of the knot, the loop isn't really holding any tension.

    So with all the length being doubled diameter (buried line inside), does it still hold strong?

    For the bury I follow the recommendation of Samson Rope for a fixed eye bury. Bury 3 fids inside of 3.5 fids.

    1 fid == 7 x circumference

    which is approximately 22 times the diameter

    The doubled length hasn't affected the holding strength that I have noticed.

    I use 2" buries on the Zing It... and thats only because its easier for my fat fingers to get ahold of 2". For things like tarp lines, 1" with a locked brummel is plenty.

    6" did seem like a lot for the zing-it.

    But thanks for the help. Been making some fixed eyes for TeeDee's single line friction knot. Getting the hang of it I think.
    Using 28 gauge wire for the fid and NER Dynaglide. I think I need some fatter wire...

    Yes, 28 is a little thin. You can get by with 20 or 22.

    In that post.. I mentioned those bury lengths because I assumed since you mentioned dynaglide you were using the line for suspension.

    FYI;

    I believe that the name Penberthy Prussic is probably a joke referring to a Cornish comedian by the name of Jethro who tells lots of stories about the stupidity of his mate (chum in Ameriglish) Denzel Penberthy. Typical example:

    Denzel and Jethro go to Delabole Quarry because they hear the company is hiring.

    The manager says OK I just need to take your names.

    Denzel: "Denzel Penberthy"

    Manager: "And how do you spell Penberthy"

    Pause . . .

    Denzel: "Screw your job"
