where does everyone get snakeskins from? are they just for the tarps or are they for the hammock also?

No, they are not JUST for ...
I have snakeskins for my tarps, and "black bishop" bags, equivalent to a snakeskin, for my hammocks. Some bishop bags are sized for the hammock alone, my current "use it on the trail" model is big enough for a down underquilt and the hammock.
I made all of mine. Making a snakeskin for a tarp is just about as easy as making a stuff sack except that you are now dealing with 5 ft of material on a side versus 1 ft. ( I just made another pair yesterday...) Making a black bishop bag is as easy as making a big stuff sack (ditto, made it day before yesterday...)
Several of our members I believe sell variations. Check around.
If your not into DIY then Hennessy Hammocks has Snakeskins.

Imaginegear.com sells the Hennessy snakeskins cheaper than I could get them from Hennessy, and they're in the USA, not Canada, so shipping I found to be really fast and cheap.
