June 12th? I'm in. And I'll probably be bringing two more hangers with me.

That's awesome. This might turn out to be a highlight trip this year.

I already hung at Coe this year - was gorgeous in March-April, and there was plenty of water. Have fun!

I'll be off work around 3. I work in San Francisco so I won't be there very early. I might just come out Saturday morning and spend one night. If I can get off work early, then I'll do Friday night also.

Is anyone taking the initiative to plan this?

I am rapidly rediscovering my love of camping and the great outdoors, but the majority of my experience is decades past. I may be moderately familiar with Henry W. Coe park, but I've never attended even a group camping event, much less a group hang!

If someone else wishes to take the initiative in organizing the get-together, I'll gladly offer what help that I can manage. I live fairly close to the park, I can reconnoiter as needed.

I'd like to come and see the different hammocks. I don't know if I'll have one by then...

I'll be in Hendy Woods in Mendocino County for Memorial Weekend. Going to be bringing the hammock for sleeping and hanging chair for relaxing.

Sorry guys. I haven't been around for a couple days. Been pretty busy lately.

I would suggest we leave out of the Hunting Hollow entrance for at least Two reasons.

First, in the Western part of the park, you have to stay in designated campsites. http://www.coepark.org/backpacking.html Entering through the South will allow each person to decide where and how they set up (I.E. Stealth).

Second, there are no parking spots at the Coyote Creek Entrance; and vehicles will be subject to tickets. So you will have to park at Hunting Hollow regardless, and no one will have to walk the extra two miles.http://www.coepark.org/entrances.html

As far as a spot, I suggest the "fish pond" located about 1.6 miles down Hunting Hollow rd. Or, "redfern pond" located roughly 3.7 miles from the Hunting Hollow Entrance. Or, "gibson pond" located roughly 3 miles from Hunting Hollow Entrance. Directions to the Trailhead are here

Fees are $5.00 per person/ per night, and $6.00 per vehicle/ per day at the Hunting Hollow Entrance. You can register, and pay your park fees, at the Hunting Hollow Station. You can also self-register when no one is staffed.http://www.coepark.org/entrances.html Please read these links, as well as others, to get as much information as you can as I can't post it all here. Or call them at 408-779-2728.

I hope this is enough info and we can agree on a suitable spot.
