I prefer a good 2mm cord for guy lines on my tarp. There's a couple of local outdoor stores here that carry it on the shelf by the roll. It's been awhile since I was in MI. so I don't recall a local store up there.

If you are looking for tarp guy lines, you can go here: http://whoopieslings.com/No_Knot_Tarp_Guylines.html or here: http://arrowheadequipment.webs.com/apps/webstore/ , or here: http://www.jacksrbetter.com/Products.htm , or you can go to a hardware store and get braided masons line, make sure not to get the twisted kind! These are just a couple places to go, there a a bunch more vendors that will have what you need. You can look on the vendor listing here on the forum for more!

Speer No-Tangle Guy Lines and AHE 1.75mm Utility Line in grey for the ridgeline for me. I like it lite, and to be able to tie knots without slippage

All of the above links are good choices for online ordering. In my travels I often find myself in a good outfitter store and purchase there as well.

If you order from Reddenmarine, currently you can get a discount with the discount code of " hammockforum". - 5% . I just ordered some stuff today so I can verify it is still in effect.

Additionally for general cordage supplies I also use APSLtd , Annapolis Performance Sailing.
