I'm always struck with the nice tight tarps in pictures posted here. My approach is...different.
I use a HH with a Cooke Custom Sewing tarp overhead. I think the tarp is 10 by 12. I run the ridge line through the loops that run along the midline, and use some prussiks to keep the tarp taught along the ridgeline. That's the ONLY part that's taught however.
I tie out the sides with single lines on loops midway down the sides. These lines aren't particularly taught. I tie the pairs of loops together along the length of the ends to close the ends.
The end result...a truly ugly tarp, but it seems like it'd hold up in a hurricane. Does anyone else do anything like this?
