    Pattern? We don't need no stinkin' patterns! I cut straight across about an inch below the top of the bag, then cut across about as low on the bag as I could manage to take off the foot section. After that, it was just a matter of hemming.

    Oooh oooh oooh! Testing the MUQ at Velvet Rocks (site of last Fall's group hang in NH) tomorrow night. It supposed to get down to 50F, which is a might toasty for an UQ, but I have to try it anyway.

    I am so glad I stumbled across this thread. My 7yr old needs a UQ quick and this looks like a good cheap option. I will not be using anywhere near as nice a bag as you, but I will document the conversion anyway.
