    WITHDRAWN: Delorme PN-40 For Sale

Delorme PN-40. full kit, hasn’t been on a hike yet. Mainly played with it around the house. Complete with extra’s: Delorme belt case, Sea-Line dry sack, display protector and an additional, fully transferable 3 year warranty that covers up to $500.00. Excellent condition
    $250.00 free shipping

You can by the new TOPO 8.0 upgrade for, I believe it's $45.00 which is dirt cheap. I was going to go ahead and purchase it myself, but I haven't been useing it so I just didn't need it. Besides that, the TOPO 7.0 is actually very good and has a lot of data.

    Thanks!

    ???'s

Does this also have detailed maps for use while driving or biking and is it capable of driving routes?

    Thanks...
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.

Yes and it'll do nautical as well. It's also supposed to be excellent for geo-caching and has special features for this as well.

The delormes generally have the best signal of handheld gps's, but less "coolness" for example, with a garmin you get a touch screen-ooooo ahhhh ooo wooowww. Thats cool if thats your thing, but i would rather have a smaller screen that i can see in the sun, and have a better signal.

Despite my complaints about canopy coverage, I love my PN-40 compared to my old E-Trex Vista. With fresh lithium batteries, it pops. You can also buy an annual subscription with the Topo software that gives you access to every USGS quad in the US for downloading. If you slap a nice 16GB memory card in there, you could probably fit every quad for the entire AT on it.
The cache register program is also good for geocaching.

Yeah, I wish I had been able to use it. I really should have listed a long time ago, but I clung on to it thinking I would have the chance.

I've experimented with it mainly at home where I was able to get locks indoors while it was snowing, raining, foggy even electrical storms. I did use it a few times while drinving just to see how well it would update as I drove and it did surprisingly well.

I use a PN-40 for geocaching. You should try it. If you can't be hanging in a hammock, you may as well be hunting for a cache.

Don't argue with the alligator until after you cross the river.
