It does not APPEAR that you angled your finished "skins" to get your best lines of sewing....GREAT WORK! Those are some great looking tracks you laid my friend.

Only cause you aren't looking close pal ... but thank you for your kind words.

Not sure what you mean about angling ... I pretty much cut them like the pattern he laid out ... but re-cut them 16" shorter ... just a bit long using 7 ft sections. But man do they do the job AND allow me to mold it to the shape of the spot I stuff them. They are much easier to deal with than a #3 HH skin.

Looking forward to seeing you in the Big Ditch ... in less than 2 weeks pal! I hear the slugs are exceptionally fat this spring!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

What I meant by angling was that it did not look like you set things up so that the camera would only get the best parts of your work. It must ALL be that good...

Trying my best to get out there for some "me" time. Orders are keeping me very busy. I have you and some of the other members to blame for that....

Sorry about that pal ... well actually I'm probably not. You make a heck of a product. Liked what I saw in the gorge ... really like what I got last week in my Crow's nest. Love that bad boy.

Well really hope you can make it pal but understand if you can't. Won't be the same without you!

I'm late to the game because you've already made your snakeskins, Hawkeye, but here's my 2 worth to the forum because I haven't seen anyone else suggest this:

I hang my tarp from the tie-outs at the ridge, not a separate full ridgeline. I store it in a regular stuffsack. After I hang & stake out the tarp, I slip the lines off of the stakes on one side and flip it back over the other half. That gives me half-coverage so I can enjoy the sunlight and stars from my hammock, but am ready to flip it down and stake it quick if bad weather moves in.

My upcoming improvement to this is to use a Black Bishop bag so that I don't have to hunt for the stuff sack when it's time to pack up.

So far, I prefer SnakeSkins due to being able to hang the tarp without removing from the SS but can quickly have a full set up when needed. I'm still trying to come up with the best way (for me) to load it into/onto my backpack.

Glenn ... these mesh snake skins ... cut a little larger than the HH skins do the job but still allow you enough compression to pack it easier.

I use to pack everything compressed and hard packed in separate bags in my pack. Then I noticed how much spack was lost to voids between these. Much easier and effecient to have them in looser compressable bags. Also fills every nook and cranny.

Michael, I've come to realize the void issue and have decided (for now) to just stuff the hammock and it's suspension directly into the pack, but would like to leave the tarp on the outside of the pack in case quick setup is needed.
