My setup= line around tree and s-biner back to line
opposite around tree and to a nite-eze figure 9 prussicced to the line
prussics to each tarp end d-ring....I did the trick with a pen to form the hollow of the prussic for the tarp ridgeline on one side....couldn't figure out how to do it
on the other side and just use a mini-biner.......

so only one mechanical-the sole mini-biner....but soon I'll replace the prussics and use the new penberthy knot!

Why are you replacing the prussics? Is there some mechanical advantage to a penberthy? My continuous ridgeline currently uses only 1 piece of hardware: a small metal fig 9. I have a large bowline on one end. Wrap line around tree 1, pull everything through the bowline loop to secure, cinch down. Walk to other tree, wrap around, secure to fig 9.

forgot the s-biner is a mechanical fail point! the prussics sometimes get too tight since i have so many loops to get it to hold...the penberthy is said to hold better when both lines are same diameter which mine are and have less 'dressing' time as found on the prussic....we'll see next week.
That bowline idea is a great one!

The loop goes over the knot and it cinches around the knot.

Had it on a tarp in decent winds and held fine. Just pull on the bead and loop becomes loose again.

Yea i thought about a double bowline(i guess it would be called that) since there two ends of one line to tie up.

    nacrabiner

Search the forum for "loop shackles". If I knew how to link to a thread I would...sorry.

They should satisfy what your looking for...kind of fun to make as well.

A loop shackle, aka Nacrabiner, is as light and simple as it gets yet super strong.

Its no different than using the D ring normally. Its not going to pull out.

It does have the same draw back as a normal toggle in that it could fall out when tension is released.. But I found it stayed put just fine.
