Yea it aint that much weight, but thats just how i see it. If i can take 10g off here, 15 off there, 5 off here..Thats the whole point of buying/myog'ing new stuff right, lighter, easier. Doesn't really cost me anything as i already had line just sitting around doing nothing, and its faster for setup.

Im really interested in cuben for a tarp/hammock. But im worried about abrasion from say sand on your pants, on the surface of the material. At least in a hammock i think it would be an issue. One of the things keeping me from getting into it, although alot of others are. If brian made a tarp outta it i might consider it, or brandon made a hammock out of it! =) The price is also a turnoff now.

12 grams is three large paperclips....
    But to each their own.
Light is good and I'm happy to shave pounds, or ounces provided that it is cost effective, but not at the expense of comfort or simplicity.

HYOH and PYOT and so forth. I don't have to understand your obsession as long as it works for you. . Just trying to offer another alternative.

Im increasing simplicity, not sacrificing it. This is as much about simplicity than it is about weight.
