    TreeBoat Hammocks

Have any of you tried the treeboat hammocks? It looks like they are pricey, but designed to be used in a tree...way up a tree.

I just thought I'd check on anyone experience with those or similar products and applications.

Yes, but a BB is not designed to hold you steady 100' up in the trees.

Not sure how to hang a hammock that high. Midnight bladder relief would be interesting. You would need some long guylines for your tarp to reach the ground. It would be fun if one could overcome those minor challenges...

The tarp and bugnet prices for that thing are insane... almost as interesting as the bat hammock. Don't understand its purpose but it seems to fit this odd hammock conversation. http://www.mosquitohammock.com/bathammock.html

I don't know if you'd want to be up there if you needed a tarp.
I somehow stumbled upon that site from some other post on here. It has all sorts of tree climbing gear. I didn't know that they made hammocks especially designed for that. Looks like that type of hammock might work for an above tree line bivy for mountain climbing too.
The hammocks have safety lines and such to keep you from falling to the ground.

I sure would not want a bottom entry hammock for that!

If you want to hang high Black Diamond has some great products. This stuff is just insanely expensive and heavy. I wouldn't bother looking at it personally.

I've used a portaledge before when doing some big wall climbing. Those will give ya the heebee geebee's.

Six attachment points with a single suspension point. I'll tell you, there was not a minute that night that I did not think about that single suspension point...especially when the wind hit.

I've never used one, but I'm aware of their use. There's many tree climbing clubs out there, kind of a sub culture. The tree boat is very cool and designed to tie out on all four corners to make a platform for sleeping, eating, or just hanging. Check out this web site for more info: http://www.treeclimbing.com/
